Excel AcadeMy Wrestling

Excel Academy Middle School wrestling officially begins with our first practice Tuesday November 10 from 4:30 to 6:30 at Excel Academy High School. Be there if you plan to join the team!

Practices: Practices are held every Tuesday form 4:30-6:00pm at Excel Academy High School. Students should plan to attend every practice unless they have a severe illness or family emergency. There are also optional practices held in Winthrop on Wednesday nights, but these are not required.

Equipment Needed: Students should wear athletic clothes, such as t-shirts, shorts, and sweatpants. Clothing students should NOT wear include belts, khakis, jeans, anything baggy or loose, and anything with belts, buckles, or metal pieces. Jewelry should be removed before practice. Students should also plan to get wrestling shoes, because regular sneakers cannot be worn during wrestling. We will have discounted shoes available to buy for $40, but families may also buy them online or at a sporting goods store.

Who Can Come: Any Excel student may join! It is open grades 5-8, boys and girls, beginners and experienced wrestlers. Students will practice with partners with similar age and experience level.

How to Sign Up: Many students have already signed up by returning papers after their fitness class with wrestling. Some may have signed up online. You can sign up by bringing this paper to practice, or sign up online using the button above that says REGISTER HERE.
